Massage Therapy Treatment (RMT)

Massage Therapy Treatment

Massage Therapy provides an alternative health option to help alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday muscular aches and pains, occupational over-use and many chronic pain syndromes. If employed early enough, Massage Therapy can reduce and eliminate painful muscular patterning associated with trauma and injury to the body.

Your massage takes place in an atmosphere of safety and confidence. It is a partnership between you and your Therapist, who will help you understand the processes behind your pain and how you can work together to alleviate that.

Your Therapist will help you understand that ultimately your body has the capacity to heal itself, and will work with you to learn how you can become part of this process.

Massage therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body to gain a therapeutic response. Soft tissue includes muscle, skin, fascia (connective tissue), tendons and ligaments.

Swedish massage is currently the most common form of Massage therapy practiced; however our Registered Massage Therapists incorporate many various massage techniques, such as Deep Tissue Release, Thai Massage, Shiatsu Massage and Trigger Point Therapy to name a few. Massage Therapy is safe and effective for everyone. Whether you seek Massage Therapy for stress management or for rehabilitative care, massage helps to balance not only the problem areas but also your whole body.

Common conditions treated are: Whiplash, Headaches, Muscle spasm, Pregnancy, Motor vehicle Accidents, Migraines, Neck & Shoulder Tension, Sciatica, Low Back Pain, Fibromyalgia.

Sandra Dale, Mercedita Naoe and Janice McKinney are all Registered Massage Therapists who have over 20 years of combined clinical experience. They individually assess their patients’ needs and incorporate remedial and postural exercise recommendations into their massage treatments.

Massage Therapy from the perspective of our Mississauga Massage Therapist – Sandra Dale

Over my 20 years in massage therapy, I have had the privilege to get to know patients, as well as their ailments. I feel quite happy that this profession has let me help the general public, the Mississauga community, and my neighbours with things as daily stresses to devastating accidents.

I went back to school at a difficult time in my life, having just lost my husband to an unknown illness. Having two young children to support I was looking for something that I could achieve financial security with as well as something that I felt passionate about.  I had originally started with reflexology which had led me to aromatherapy and through my process of trying to find something new, massage therapy was the next natural profession I should do.

Massage therapy has given me the chance to work in a variety of settings such as private clinics, chiropractic clinics, spas, DAL facilities ( Data assessment centers for motor vehicle accident), corporate massage and in-home massage therapy.

I have worked with BACK-SAFE professional dancers and have attended many health symposiums over the years. I like to incorporate all of the different modalities and interests that I have into my massage treatments. In the future I would like to study different forms of massage such as Hawaiian Lomi Lomi and further my studies in Ayurveda (Indian) techniques.
