IV Therapy

IV (Intravenous) Therapy is the administration of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids directly into the bloodstream. This method allows for rapid and complete absorption into the cells and mitochondria, where they can be used readily by the body.

IV Nutrient Therapy bypasses gastrointestinal absorption of nutrients and instantaneously improves biochemical processes needed for energy production, optimization of immune system, nervous system, and the body’s innate ability to heal itself.

Our experienced IVIT certified practitioners (Dr. Margaret Balajewicz ND and Dr. Douglas Andrews ND) are able to customize IV Nutrient Therapy Blends to suit individuals’ unique biochemistry and needs.

The difference between IV Therapy and Oral Supplements

natureopathyWhen internal organs are not at their best state of health, oral nutrients may fail to absorb well through the digestive tract. Oral administration is also a slower process overall since they have to move through the digestive system and metabolize before the body can use them.

Vitamin Infusion Therapy allows for:

    • Bypassing the Gastrointestinal Tract which lets the body receive the necessary nutrients immediately and effortlessly. Instead of having to go through the digestive system first, the nutrients go straight into the blood stream, resulting in faster results.
    • Administering nutrients in a much higher concentration not otherwise possible by oral route. With IV Therapy, the body can maximize administered nutrients more effectively. Faster healing is promoted when receiving nutrients at a higher concentration.
    • Customizing ingredients to individual’s unique biochemistry and needs. One of the stronger pros of IV Therapy to aid in healing from illness and boosting the immune system is that our Naturopaths customize IV ‘cocktails’ to suit specific needs.

Here are some examples of commonly used Nutrient Therapy Blends.

Our practitioners also often customize blends even further to suit the needs to each individual.

What does a primary consultation with a naturopathic doctor involve?

The first consultation will take 75 minutes. Return visits take 30 to 45 minutes depending upon the treatment. The patient will be asked to complete a detailed health questionnaire, designed to help identify specific health needs. A case oriented physical will be done as required as well as diagnostic tests. After the initial consultation, physical examination and review of the case, an effective treatment program will be created to address the health concerns.
