There are many options for treating chronic pain in Naturopathic Medicine which can include herbal anti-inflammatories like turmeric and boswellia as well as homeopathics and topical creams and oils.

The author of this audio script is Jon Kabat Zinn–a very well known educator on meditation. He is a Professor of Medicine Emeritus and the creator of the Stress Reduction Clinic and Centre for Mindfulness in Meditation at the University of  Massachusetts Medical School.
So–this guy is no slouch!  Unlike other educators, he is able to discuss meditation in very tangible terms.
