How to write a birth plan

Some couples get stumped when trying to figure out how to write down their birth preferences or birth plan. They just don’t know where to start!

This is a great exercise for mom’s to picture what they ideally during labour. It is also helpful for their birth partners and OBs or midwives to look over during the latter stages of pregnancy and to review at their birth place.

We want all of our mama’s to have the best birth possible. The preferred way is vaginally as C-section is major abdominal surgery and the recovery tends to be much longer.
This is a very interesting study on  vitamin D status in a pregnant mother. It states: Vitamin D deficiency was linked to a 2-fold increased risk of cesarean for prolonged labour.
Therefore–if you are pregnant, it is essential that your vitamin D is checked. It is a simple blood test that your OB, midwife or Naturopathic doctor can do.
