Won’t you be my neighbor?!
Won’t you be my neighbor?
My husband and I just watched the movie, “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood” and I have to say, it was amazing. A great walk down memory lane with Daniel the tiger, the train and of course the infamous cardigans!
I’m not going to spoil it for you but just wanted to comment on one of the main themes in the movie –emotions and how we deal with them.
In the portrayal, Mr. Rogers is so ‘present‘ with others that all of those around him are able to relax, feel safe and are better able to deal with deep-seated, pent up emotions. In this way, the person has the capability to express how they are feeling in a very healthy manner.
It seems simple, but is so profound.
So, if you can be your own Ted Rogers, sit with an emotion or feeling that you have in a compassionate way, a great amount of healing can take place.
